We Are...!

This year, residents of The Inn, The Pines, and The Willows celebrated Penn State Homecoming in a BIG way! Accompanied by Brookline associates, they took part in the university’s annual parade. The Juniper Village bus—converted into a custom parade float—was decked out in its Penn State finest, driving the parade route through campus and downtown State College. Each year, the parade brings together students, alumni from across the globe, faculty, and staff members from all Penn State campuses.

Prior to the procession, residents and associates enjoyed a traditional tailgating gathering just outside of Beaver Stadium. The event was a huge success and we at Juniper Village at Brookline look forward to participating for years to come! Go Nittany Lions!

Best in Show

Inn resident Stanley Person received not one, but five honors for his watercolor paintings at the 2014 Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair juried art show. Stanley specializes in watercolor painting, and took away a fifth-place ribbon for his rendition of a toucan; third place for painting of an autumn harvest; a first-place ribbon for an abstract daisy; and another first place and “Best of Show” ribbons for his painting of a kissing couple driving a horse and buggy. Stanley enjoys dabbling in the arts, and his works frequently are displayed in the Inn’s revolving resident display gallery.

The “Grange Fair” celebrated its 140th year this season. A “city within a town”, the fair is located in Centre Hall, PA, near State College. It is the largest encampment fair in the country; campers “move in” and live on-site for more than a week. Highlights include concerts, carnival rides, food, games and competitions. Juniper Village at Brookline Senior Living is proud of our resident artist and blue-ribbon winner. Congratulations, Stanley!
